How much do nutrition consultations cost?

The cost of your service will vary depending on the program you choose. A 15-minute no-cost consultation can be scheduled to discuss your needs and how much your sessions will cost.

Will insurance cover nutrition counseling/coaching?

Approach Nutrition does not participate with medical insurance providers. Most insurances only cover nutrition services for renal failure and diabetes. You may request a super-bill and submit to your insurance provider to obtain insurance reimbursement after you pay for your sessions.

Do I have to keep a record of everything I eat?

You will need to keep a food log prior to your first consultation and for the first two weeks afterwards. This is to determine how you’re doing with your personal plan. Once you are confident with making the food choices that are best for you may be able to stop logging everything you eat. If you are working virtually the system has a food journaling section for your convenience.

How long is a consultation?

An initial session is approximately 60 minutes, and a follow-up session is 30 minutes. It is possible to schedule a longer session if you have a lot of questions and feel you need more time. Longer sessions, if needed, are available for an additional charge.

What is a virtual nutrition meeting?

A virtual nutrition meeting is an online appointment for you to meet with Deb to discuss your nutrition needs and goals. If you are using the video option you will be able to see Deb and she will be able to see you. This is an easy and fun way to connect as you learn more about foods to choose and receive expert guidance on foods to choose to reach your goals.
